Salameh calls for ratification of anti-cybercrime laws

Leading bankers called upon the Parliament Thursday to ratify e-commerce and cybercrimes laws for the protection of Internet users in Lebanon, following reports that millions of dollars were stolen by hackers.

Disgruntled customers said Wednesday that they had been duped by Lebanon’s Central Bank (BDL), claiming that collectible gold Lebanese pound bills they purchased were actually gold plated, and primarily made of plastic and nylon.

عقدت جمعية خبراء كشف الفساد المجازين في لبنان مؤتمرا حول الاحتيال المالي في لبنان بحضور اكثر من 300 متخصص ورجل اعمال يمثلون القطاع المصرفي والمالي وشركات التامين وشركات التدقيق المالي والجامعات وشركات القطاع الخاص. ويبلغ حجم ممارسات الفساد والاحتيال المالي في لبنان 4 مليار دولارات سنويا، وهي ممارسات ليست حَكراً على القِطاع العام.

بداية، تحدث رئيس الجمعية الدكتور حسين طراف فأشار إلى انه فوجئ بارتفاع حجم الفساد والاحتيال المالي في لبنان وتأثيره السلبي على وضعه الاقتصادي. كما تحدث عن ضرورة تعاون الجميع لنشر التوعية حول سبل مكافحة الفساد والاحتيال المالي. ولفت إلى ندرة عدد الخبراء من حملة الشهادات في كشف الفساد المالي، معتبراً أن الفساد يجعل البلاد تخسر مليارات الدولارات
